GO FREAKIN FIGURE

Hmmm, the weather man has not made me very happy. I’ve had my bike since Sunday, and it has pretty much rained everyday since then. It’s sitting all nice and pretty in my studio because it is too freakin wet to go ride a bike. Anyway, I have taken the time to do some research regarding the Scooter that i’m looking at purchasing in the next couple of weeks. With gas prices at $3.79 a gallon, the scooter and the bicycle are going to be getting a work out. I would have ridden my bicycle to work except that it a little over 6 miles each way, and I would pretty much have to do it in a shirt and tie, while attempting to carry my lunch all at the same time.  I don’t think so.

Mr Schwinn Ranger is in the House

Actually, I think I’m gonna call my bike Aziza. That the name my dad used to call our old 1984 Lada (see below)

However, my bike does not resemble that Russian tank of old. It is actually quite cool. As you will see. I have exposed it to camera first before exposing it to the road, which should be very soon

I will post up the results of my first ride, which will probably be tomorrow since it is raining right now. I’m quite aware that I will be out of shape, but I hope to be able to make it at least around our subdivision (almost a mile I guess) with little or no problem.  My wife told me to take it slow since I have not ridden a bike in so long. It’s fairly ok around here though, with no major ups and downs to push my muscles yet.

And then she was like……

Oh my, I have not posted in quite a while.

Maybe it’s because I have been fairly busy with the new coming baby. Maybe it’s because I have taken on another volunteer task that was added (intentionally or not) onto my plate. Maybe it’s because my weight plateaued in the past month due to lack of exercise. Yes, I’m pretty busy, but most of my work is fairly stationary. I’m really hoping I get a bicycle for my birthday, so I can actually get out. Why not go walking or jogging you say? I get board. That is why I don’t do very well on stationary bikes, treadmills or ellipticals even if there is a TV in front of me. When I’m on a real bike, I’m thinking, processing, judging and adjusting. Though the scenery may be the same in out neighborhood, the place is like an off road obstacle course. I haven’t even done so well with not eating fast food. I need to get back to where I started.

I have kept off 5-6 pound in the last month and a half or so, even though I was not super careful of what I eat. I have also added a multivitamin to my diet because I have been really lacking energy lately. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks. I’ll try to keep up with updates better.

Weight Update (6)

I’m really slacking off here about posting updates and food logs for that matter. Anyway, on with the show.

I have really not been as strict about how I eat in the past couple of weeks. There has been a lot of stress, mainly at work, but I really need to get back on track.

Weight update (5)

I keep forgetting to post on Sunday when I weigh myself. Anyway, on with the show

Good. A pound and a half. My wife believes that it has to do with the 2+ miles that I walked yesterday with some other photographers at Gallery Hop. I tend to think so also. I am really looking forward to warmer days though. I can probably double my loss ratio if I actually exercis. We’ll see. Really, as long as I’m not gaining or stying at the same weight, I’m pretty happy.

Weight update (4)

It just dawned on me that I did not post up the weight update on Sunday. Actually I had a very busy last week that kept me pretty much off of wordpress.

273 1/2

Yeah, not much of a change. I think this is primarily because I was so busy I didn’t pay as much attention to what I’m eating. Hopefully I’m back on track this week.

Weight update (3)

For the few and faithful that are actually following this blog

273 1/2

Now, I forgot to weigh myself yesterday. This weight is as of Monday morning. at this pace it seems that one to one and a half pounds are what I’m looking at per week. However, I have not really exercised at all. I am looking at joining a church tennis league and return to biking when the warmer months come around. As long as I can keep loosing one pound a week, i should be on a good pace to reach my goal and shedding extra is always welcome. :-)

Weight Update (2)

Ok, nothing real exciting here, but I kinda saw it coming

275

Let’s just say, i was a little down this morning after that, but I think I know where I messed up and need to fix. I’ll try that and see how it turns out next week.

well, well, well………

So, we are having a boy. I don’t know, I think I actually feel more excited than I thought I would. Not that I would have not been excited if it was a girl. I do know that my mom was VERY VERY EXITED when I called her after we left the doctor’s office.

What does this have to do with weight loss? Well, for starters, it is a reminder for me to pay attention to what my kids eat, and try to keep them on the right path or t least close to it. My parents tried to do that with me and my brother. We weaved in and out of the healthy path throughout the time that I spent under my parents roof. When I got out on my own, I got lazy and I didn’t care what I ate.

Now, I’m almost 29 and I finally decided to try to reverse the last 10 years of bad eating habits. Let’s just hope that there is not a trickle down effect. :-)

WEIGHT UPDATE (1)

Well, I weighed myself this morning after taking my shower and I came in at…… drum roll please…….

276 pounds

So, according to me scale, I have lost ~ 4 pounds. I don’t really know if this first weigh in means much though. I think that subsequent weigh-ins will possible give a more accurate  estimation of how many pounds are being lost. I do have to say, if not drinking soda and eating fast food will make me lose 4 pounds a week. I am all for it. :-)
